With just one game on the schedule today in the NHL, we look at who is the best value to bet on as well as some props to add to your bet slip.
Ottawa Senators (-145) vs Arizona Coyotes (+120)
Both the Ottawa Senators and Arizona Coyotes are coming into the game having lost their last tilts, and after putting together winning streaks. The Coyotes had won four in a row impressively, including big wins over the Colorado Avalanche and the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Coyotes also defeated the Ottawa Senators 8-5 on March 5, so the Senators will have that game fresh in their mind and ready to reverse the fortunes.
This game looks like it will inevitably hit the over (O6, -105), even with how Anton Forsberg has played this season for the Senators. The Senators have scored 11 goals over the past three games while also allowing 10. The Coyotes just put up their best stretch in franchise history, scoring 22 goals in three games.
I recommend taking the underdog in the Coyotes as they’ve been the better team as of late, regardless of how hard the Senators may come out to start the game.
Prop Bets
Clayton Keller – Anytime Goal-Scorer (+175)
Clayton Keller has really broken out this year despite a down year for the Coyotes while they rebuild. He has scored 25 goals this season, including four in the past four games, and he is known to go on goal-scoring streaks this season. With 56 points in 58 games as well, just betting him to get a point would be an easy play, but wouldn’t give you the best return.
A goal would be the way to go, as he, his linemates, and his team have all been hot offensively and are in good position to keep that up when they visit the Senators.
Nick Ritchie – Anytime Goal-Scorer (+375)
Great value for a player who has lit up the score sheet recently with three goals in his past three games is Nick Ritchie. He has found his game once again in a smaller market after the Toronto Maple Leafs shipped him over. He has been a part of the offensive explosion that has come out of the desert and he looks to continue his great play against an easier opponent in the Senators.
Brady Tkachuk – Anytime Goal-Scorer (+145)
The best pick for the Senators would be Brady Tkachuk, their captain, to score a goal in the game. The Coyotes’ defence and goaltending isn’t the greatest and they will surely allow a few goals to slip by. Some of those have a good chance to be off of his stick, having scored three goals in the past four games and second on the team with 20 goals.
He gets a ton of shots, averaging just under four per game, so it’s not unrealistic to think more should go in. The odds are solid for this player to find the back of the net and continue his uptick in goal-scoring.
