MLB Betting: Guardians vs Tigers & Rays vs Orioles – 07/15/22

In today’s MLB betting guide, the Cleveland Guardians look to climb back up vs the Detroit Tigers, while the Baltimore Orioles and Tampa Bay Rays put their win streaks on the line.

Cleveland Guardians (-190) vs Detroit Tigers (+155)

The Guardians will have an easier matchup tonight as they try to get back on track. They are 4-6 in their last 10 games and shut out the Tigers in the opening game of the series. The Tigers just so happen to be 4-6 in their last 10 and have come down hard after their win streak. They have lost two in a row and have just 14 wins on the road where they’ve lost six of the past seven. The 30th-ranked offense of the Tigers won’t help out their reliever recently turned starter either.

Drew Hutchinson is who I’m referring to as he is set to start just his fifth game of the season. He hasn’t been a regular starter since 2015 with the Toronto Blue Jays and his stats aren’t great. He’s pitched alright as a starter, but he has allowed many more runs recently than the beginning of the season. He also won’t be able to go very deep into the game, so the Guardians’ batters will get a better look at more pitchers. Zach Plesac of the Guardians has pitched fairly well recently and has given his team a chance to win every night. Tonight shouldn’t be any different as the Tigers’ weak bats will help boost his confidence even more. Take the Guardians and the under (U8, -105).

Tampa Bay Rays (-120) vs Baltimore Orioles (+100)

Despite winning 10 in a row, the oddsmakers continue to think the Orioles’ streak will come to an end. We’ve been riding it for over half of the win streak, so why stop now? They do have a tougher opponent tonight than they’ve had in the Chicago Cubs, Los Angeles Angels, and Texas Rangers, as the Rays are in a playoff spot and are on a four-game win streak themselves. They are coming off a sweep of the Boston Red Sox.

The Rays are a strong team at home but the Orioles will have the major pitching advantage. The Rays have Luis Patino on the mound who has pitched just 0.2 innings this season and given up an earned run. Orioles’ starter Tyler Wells has given up more than three earned runs in a start just once, the first game of the season, and has pitched well ever since. His pitching will be important since the batting hasn’t stood out but has given the Orioles a chance to win and they’ve taken it. Take the Orioles as the strong underdogs and the under (U7.5, +100).
