NHL Betting: Sabres vs Penguins & Avalanche vs Canucks – 03/23/22

The Buffalo Sabres host the Pittsburgh Penguins who are both hot right now, while the Colorado Avalanche welcome the Vancouver Canucks to their barn where they’ve been the best in the league.

Buffalo Sabres (+180) vs Pittsburgh Penguins (-225)

Sidney Crosby and the Penguins have been on fire lately, winning five of the past six games, while Crosby has scored two goals and three assists in the previous two games and at least a point in 12 of the past 13 games. The Sabres have actually played pretty well lately, defeating some good teams and winning four of the past five. Don’t expect that to continue for much longer as this is their best stretch since the very start of the season.

The Penguins have all but secured a playoff spot and are now worried about where they sit once the postseason kicks off. They are within striking distance of first place and have much more to play for than the Sabres who have climbed ahead of four basement teams in the East during a rebuilding year. Take the Penguins despite coming in on the tail end of a back-to-back but stay away from the over/under because these teams have been unpredictable.

Colorado Avalanche (-250) vs Vancouver Canucks (+200)

The Avalanche are coming off a highly-contested battle with the Edmonton Oilers that they won in overtime, further continuing to have an incredible record at home where they are 25-3-3. This matchup shouldn’t be as tough considering the Canucks have lost three in a row and five of six. The Avalanche are on the other side of things having won four in a row.

The Canucks haven’t been losing many games by more than a goal, so I’d be wary of going with the puck line in this one, though it would provide better odds for you. Mikko Rantanen is the player to watch tonight as he has multi-point games in four straight. He also just hit 30 goals for the third time in his career and had tied his career-high in goals already. Take the Avalanche in this one without a doubt.
