NHL Betting: Sabres vs Panthers & Kraken vs Stars – 4/3/2022

The Florida Panthers mounted a massive comeback against the New Jersey Devils and will take on the Buffalo Sabres who are coming off a win. Meanwhile, the Dallas Stars have a prime matchup against a lowly taken team hoping to leap back into a wild card spot.

Moneyline: Buffalo Sabres (+200) vs Florida Panthers (-250)

The Sabres had a day’s rest since their win against the Nashville Predators and will continue their homestand against the panthers in a matinee matchup. Sabres’ first-line center Tage Thompson is enjoying a breakout season and notched his 29th and 30th goals of the season in the team’s last game.

The Florida Panthers overcame a 6-2 deficit after Sergei Bobrovsky struggled in goal. Spencer Knight came in for relief and got the win without allowing any goals. With the back-to-back situation, expect Spencer Knight to get the start with Craig Anderson likely getting the start on the other end after nabbing his 13th win of the season.

Knight is 13-8-3 on the season with a 2.94 goals-against average and .904 save percentage and is 3-2-0 in his last five starts. The Panthers are too deep up front, and with the ability to score at will, are never out of a game. The Panthers moneyline should give some decent value considering the back-to-back situation and you can also take the over of seven total goals scored in this one, which is paying at +110.

Moneyline: Seattle Kraken (+135) vs Dallas Stars (-165)

Jake Oettinger is the confirmed goalie in the net for the Dallas Stars, giving him the start on the second night of a back-to-back set. He has four wins in his last five starts and a .916 save percentage this season. The Stars likely would have gotten into Seattle late at night and could start off the game slow and will be playing the final game of a four-game road trip where they are 3-0-0.

The Stars squeaked out a 5-4 victory against the San Jose Sharks yesterday on the back of Tyler Seguin’s three assists. They are riding a three-game win streak and are 18-16-2 on the road this season. The Stars had multiple players put up a multi-point performance last night, including Joe Pavelski, Jason Robertson, Roope Hintz, and Vladislav Namestnikov.

Despite the Kraken being the home team and there being late-night travel involved for the Stars, it’s hard not to pick the team who is still fighting for a playoff spot to win this one. Consider parlaying these games together and take both favorites to win to get some extra value on your return.
