NHL Betting: Rangers vs Flyers & Capitals vs Wild – 4/03/22

The New York Rangers host the Philadelphia Flyers with both looking to bounce back and the Minnesota Wild look like favourable underdogs vs the Washington Capitals in today’s betting guide.

New York Rangers (-300) vs Philadelphia Flyers (+240)

This matchup heavily favours the Rangers as the Flyers continue to show little signs of life this season. What makes it worse is the stain of healthy scratching the all-time ironman leader Keith Yandle when they are already eliminated from playoff contention just 11 games from 1,000 in a row. The Flyers lost 6-3 vs the Toronto Maple Leafs and probably deservedly so for that. It was their fourth consecutive loss, giving up 21 combined goals in those games.

The Rangers are the clear favourites in this one, not only because of the struggles of the Flyers but also due to their play all season. They had won four straight games before getting shut out by Semyon Varlamov once again. They should be hungry and looking to bounce back tonight as they are the team that’s rested. Take the over in this one (O6, -105) as well as the Rangers.

Washington Capitals (-130) vs Minnesota Wild (+105)

The Wild have great value here as an underdog. Though they did play last night against a very tough out in the Carolina Hurricanes at home, Marc-Andre Fleury and company came out with the victory. The thing about the Wild now is that they have two number one goaltenders, so they should have an equal, if not better chance of winning tonight against a weaker opponent.

The Capitals are no slouch, though, as they firmly hold the second wild card spot in the East. They’re coming into this game having won two of the past three but lost their last game 6-1 to the same Hurricanes the Wild took down. Kirill Kaprizov has been unstoppable, finishing the month of March with the most goals among all players with 14 and just broke the franchise record for points in a season. He will be the difference-maker in this one as the Capitals have given up three or more goals in six consecutive games. Take the Wild and the under (U6, -105) based on their netminding.
