NHL Betting: Player Props – Ovechkin, Laine & Miller – 3/11/22

With a lighter schedule in the NHL today, we are going to look at some individuals that are worth placing some money on for player props. Betting on these players should bring back the results you want and keep you into the games all the way until the end.

Anytime Goal-Scorer – Alex Ovechkin (Over 0.5, -105)

Alex Ovechkin tied Jaromir Jagr for third all-time in goals two games ago when he netted two in a win over the red-hot Calgary Flames on the road. That was his fourth goal in three games and his seventh in his past nine. It looks like he has started to get hot again and that spells danger for opposing netminders.

After a couple of very close misses in the loss to the Edmonton Oilers in his last game, Ovechkin will be looking to get that one goal to move him into sole possession of third in NHL history in goals. His longtime linemate, Nicklas Backstrom, just reached 1,000 points last game and it was his night, so he will definitely be looking to make it Ovechkin’s night tonight as they play the Vancouver Canucks who have allowed at least three goals in the past four games.

Anytime Goal-Scorer – Patrik Laine (Over 0.5, +140)

Patrik Laine, especially when he’s on, is one of the biggest threats to score every night. He’s not on the tear he was at the end of January and into early February, but he has still scored 16 goals in his past 17 games and three in his past five.

Nobody on the Columbus Blue Jackets would have enjoyed being stomped 6-0 by the New York Islanders yesterday. They should all be looking to come out hard tonight against a team in the Minnesota Wild, who have allowed at least three goals against in 12 of their past 13 games, not getting good goaltending from either Cam Talbot or Kaapo Kahkonen. It is the perfect opponent for Laine to bounce back and pot a goal.

Points – J.T. Miller (Over 0.5, -250)

This is one of the safest bets you can make tonight, as J.T. Miller is on a 10-game point streak and has recorded at least two points in seven of those. The Vancouver Canucks have scored at least four goals in eight of their past nine games and Miller has been at the centre of all the action.

If you are feeling lucky, also take Miller to score a goal (+160) since he has seven goals and has scored in six of his past 10 games. Against a team like the Capitals that has struggled defensively and in general the past while, it’s a great matchup for him to continue his hot streak.
