NHL Betting: Oilers vs Red Wings & Jets vs Golden Knights – 03/15/22

These two games have a ton of importance in the race for the final of the divisional spots in the Pacific and should bring entertainment and a chance to bring in some money.

Edmonton Oilers (-300) vs Detroit Red Wings (+230)

The Edmonton Oilers come into this game having won two in a row and have passed the Vegas Golden Knights for third place in the Pacific Division. The Oilers have had a very up and down season but look to have things under control for the moment as they are getting stellar goaltending from Mikko Koskinen and the stars are scoring, led by Connor McDavid.

They are still without key players Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Jesse Puljujarvi, but they have been able to manage and win impressive games over the Tampa Bay Lightning and Washington Capitals. The Detroit Red Wings have lost five consecutive games and seven of eight, being outscored by a wide margin and really struggling. They have allowed 45 goals over the span of eight games and six of their seven losses have been by more than one goal. That gives value to bet the Oilers puck line this game, as their money line odds aren’t the greatest (-1.5, -120).

Winnipeg Jets (-120) vs Vegas Golden Knights (+100)

We have never seen the Golden Knights struggle like they have since they came into the league. Injuries have been a big part and the fact that their captain Mark Stone is out long-term and their starting goaltender Robin Lehner is battling injuries and is in and out of the lineup.

They aren’t able to rely on their backup Laurent Brossoit but have had to. The team has also not been able to score very many goals and is losing against teams they should beat. Having lost four in a row coming into tonight, they have dropped games to the Buffalo Sabres, Philadelphia Flyers, and Columbus Blue Jackets, all non-playoff teams.

The Winnipeg Jets on the other hand are hanging around the playoff picture and are playing must-win hockey if they wish to climb back into contention and have a shot at playing in the postseason. They have won three of their past four games and have defeated the likes of the Lightning and the St. Louis Blues in that time. They look to take advantage of a vulnerable team and further close the gap between them and the playoffs with a home win tonight. Take the Jets money line in this one.
