NHL Betting: Jets vs Blue Jackets – Moneyline, Over/Under, & Props – 03/25/22

This betting guide will cover everything to do with the Winnipeg Jets vs. Columbus Blue Jackets game tonight as there are only five games on the schedule.

Winnipeg Jets (-200) vs Columbus Blue Jackets (+170)

The Blue Jackets are always a team to watch, as they’ve managed to hang around and post a positive record to this point. The Jets are coming off a loss last night in a game they really needed against a bottom-feeder Ottawa Senators team.

Connor Hellebuyck hasn’t been the greatest all-around this year, so Eric Comrie should get the start in another game the Jets feel they need to and should win vs. a non-playoff team. Their remaining schedule is fairly easy, so they will have to take advantage of all the games in which they are the favourites and sneak in some wins when they are the underdogs as well.

Elvis Merzlikins may not be ready to go tonight and Joonas Korpisalo has just been shut down for the remainder of the season, so the Jets get the advantage when it comes to goaltending, plus they have Kyle Connor who just became the first 40/40 scorer since the team relocated to Winnipeg. The Jets are much better at home, while the Blue Jackets struggle on the road. Take the Jets in this one while also considering the over (O6.5, -110).

Props

Kyle Connor – Points (O1.5, +125)

Connor has been on an absolute tear of late recording seven goals and 18 points in his past nine games. This makes me think he will continue that against what should be a third-string goaltender in net for the Blue Jackets. In five of those nine games, he has put up two or more points and against some formidable opponents.

Kyle Connor, Winnipeg Jets (Jess Starr/The Hockey Writers)

Connor has led his team in offence this season, and as I mentioned above, he just became the first 40/40 scorer since the team relocated to Winnipeg. In a time when his team desperately needs points to stay in the playoff race, he is the guy to turn to.

Zach Werenski – Assists (O0.5, +115)

Zach Werenski has been one of the hottest Blue Jackets lately, recording five assists in the last five games. Their team is usually able to score, and they should be seeing Winnipeg’s backup Comrie in net tonight. Either way, the Jets haven’t been the best team defensively and usually at least let a few in.

Whether it’s on the power play or even strength, Werenski is typically on the ice for nearly half of the game, so he should be factoring in on goals. With 31 assists in 58 games and seemingly always on the ice contributing, it’s one of the best-valued prop bets that are likely to hit in this game.
