NHL Betting: Bruins vs Sabres & Blue Jackets vs Lightning – 04/28/22

The Boston Bruins and Buffalo Sabres both look to stay hot in their matchup, while the Tampa Bay Lightning look to roll over the Columbus Blue Jackets and lock up third spot in their division.

Boston Bruins (-350) vs Buffalo Sabres (+260)

BOS: 50-25-5, 3.08 GF/GP, 2.66 GA/GP, L10: 6-4-0

BUF: 31-38-11, 2.83 GF/GP, 3.50 GA/GP, L10: 6-4-0

This game between the Bruins and Sabres should be a good one as the Sabres have been running through other non-playoff teams and giving playoff-bound teams tough games while even winning some. They have won four games in a row and scored 19 goals over that stretch.

The goaltenders have already been confirmed as Linus Ullmark and Dustin Tokarski will man their respective nets. Buffalo looks like a new team since they have gotten healthy and their young players are starting to find their game at the NHL level. Rasmus Dahlin has turned a corner in his development and, along with their top line, they are a dangerous team offensively. The Bruins will have a tough time despite winning five of their previous six games. Take the Sabres in this one for great value and the over (O6, -105) since both teams have been putting lots of pucks in the back of the opponent’s nets.

Columbus Blue Jackets (+230) vs Tampa Bay Lightning (-275)

CBJ: 36-37-7, 3.13 GF/GP, 3.63 GA/GP, L10: 4-5-1

TB: 50-22-8, 3.46 GF/GP, 2.74 GA/GP, L10: 7-2-1

The Lightning and Blue Jackets have had very different fortunes over the last little while. The Lightning have been playing great hockey backed by Steven Stamkos and Nikita Kucherov who have led them to six wins in the past seven games and a lot of goals for. Victor Hedman has also been stellar and not talked about this season, while he has scored 20 goals and 82 points already.

The Blue Jackets on the other hand have lost five of their past six games, three of which were to teams lower than them in the standings. They will be looking to bounce back from a 4-1 defeat at the hands of the surging Lightning in their previous game but will have a tough time stopping pucks with the next level the Lightning stars are on. Stamkos and Kucherov have each tallied 28 points this month already and Stamkos has recorded three-plus points in five consecutive games. It’s a no-brainer to take the Lightning in this one and also take the over (O6.5, -105).
