NHL Betting: Blues vs Coyotes & Kings vs Flames – 4/04/22

In today’s betting guide, the St. Louis Blues host the last-place Arizona Coyotes, and the Los Angeles Kings and Calgary Flames clash in a highly anticipated battle in the Pacific Division.

St. Louis Blues (-400) vs Arizona Coyotes (+310)

The Blues have started to break their slump at the perfect time by winning three of the past four and getting points in all of them. The Coyotes have as well but their victories have come against much weaker opponents in the San Jose Sharks and Chicago Blackhawks. Before winning two of the past three, the Coyotes had lost six games in a row scoring only nine goals.

I would expect Ville Husso to get the start once again for the Blues after Jordan Binnington got lit up against the Edmonton Oilers in his last start. In for the Coyotes is Ivan Prosvetov, who is making his third start of the season and fourth of his career. With the Blues scoring 19 goals in the past four games and Prosvetov holding a career .865 save percentage and 4.00 goals-against average, I don’t see this going any other way than the Blues stomping the Coyotes and the teams reaching the over (O6.5, +100). The odds are this swayed for a reason so consider parlaying the two.

Los Angeles Kings (+145) vs Calgary Flames (-175)

The Kings have been rolling along strong to hold their second spot in the division, while the Oilers and Vegas Golden Knights are hot on their tail. Visiting are the Flames who have lost multiple games in a row for the first time since early to mid-January. It’s not the time to start slumping, especially when the division has just gotten a lot closer and they may be in danger of losing that top spot.

The Kings are better on the road, while the Flames are better at home, but this is a case of betting for the team who will give you the better odds. You should usually give the home team some sort of advantage and the Kings have been overcoming injuries all season to be where they are. Don’t expect that to stop now. Take the Kings and the under (U6, -115) for the best value in this tight matchup.
