NHL Betting: Blue Jackets vs Senators & Wild vs Kraken – 04/22/22

In today’s NHL Betting, the Columbus Blue Jackets and Ottawa Senators play for pride tonight, while the Minnesota Wild try to solidify home-ice advantage in the playoffs in an easier matchup vs the Seattle Kraken.

Columbus Blue Jackets (-120) vs Ottawa Senators (+100)

The Senators wrap up the season with an easy schedule playing all three teams below them in the Eastern Conference standings. But this game is against the Blue Jackets who sit in 10th place. The Senators have been above average of late and when they haven’t won, they’ve been giving teams a tough game. The Senators won their last game against the Vancouver Canucks in comeback fashion and have gone 3-1-1 in their past five.

The Blue Jackets have struggled over the past month, winning just three games. All those have come against teams lower than them in the standings as well: Philadelphia Flyers, Montreal Canadiens, and Detroit Red Wings. None of those teams are having a fun stretch or season either. The Senators have been better on the road than at home and provide good value against a team like Columbus who is still likely without Zach Werenski. Take the Senators and over (O6, -120).

Minnesota Wild (-275) vs Seattle Kraken (+225)

The Wild are coming off of a hard-fought win over the desperate Vancouver Canucks. They didn’t allow the Canucks to hold any lead for long and powered back into the game with six goals. Scoring has been a theme for them and it shouldn’t affect them much at all having played last night. They may have the best goaltending tandem in the league. Marc-Andre Fleury, who has a .921 save percentage with the Wild since coming over, is also 6-1-0 with the team.

The Wild’s offence has been led by Kirill Kaprizov, Mats Zuccarello, and Kevin Fiala of late. They are also one of the best teams at home this season with a record of 28-7-2. The Kraken have actually won three games in a row and are coming off a huge upset victory over the conference-leading Colorado Avalanche. Despite playing much better, this Wild team will be too much to handle. The Kraken should put up a good battle, especially with the new life of Matty Beniers injected into the lineup, but will fall short. Take the Wild and the over (O6, -110).
