NHL Betting: Blackhawks vs Flyers – Moneyline, Over/Under, Props – 04/25/22

In today’s betting guide, there is only one game on the schedule after a hectic weekend. The Philadelphia Flyers visit the Chicago Blackhawks and this is where you’ll find everything from who to choose, the over/under, and some player props.

Chicago Blackhawks (-140) vs Philadelphia Flyers (+115)

Blackhawks: 26-42-11, 2.59 GF/GP, 3.57 GA/GP, L10: 2-7-1

Flyers: 25-43-11, 2.62 GF/GP, 3.58 GA/GP, L10: 3-7-0

The Flyers visit Chicago in the second half of a back-to-back where they are coming off a big win over the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Blackhawks are coming into this game rested but playing very poorly. Their last regulation win came March 23 against the Anaheim Ducks and they have lost 12 of the past 14 games. They have also allowed four or more goals against in seven of the past eight games.

The Flyers aren’t a good team by any stretch, but have won consecutive games against the Montreal Canadiens and Penguins. A number of players have been shut down for the remaining few games, but the young players have stepped up, including the line of Noah Cates, Morgan Frost, and Owen Tippett. That line scored the first two goals of the game and Cates added a third on the power play in the third.

The Blackhawks don’t have much going past their top line of Alex DeBrincat, Patrick Kane, and Dylan Strome. While these teams haven’t scored a ton this season, the projected starters in this game suggest goals will pile up. Felix Sandstrom for the Flyers is 0-2-1 with a 3.30 goals-against average (GAA), while Kevin Lankinen is 6-15-6 with a 3.62 GAA. The Flyers look like the better option as the underdogs in this one along with the over (O6.5, -105).

Props

Bobby Brink – Assists (Over 0.5, +210)

Bobby Brink has broken onto the scene in Philadelphia after finishing his college career and stepped in on the second line. Known to be a pass-first kind of player, he finished this season with 43 assists in 41 games for the University of Denver.

Since arriving in Philadelphia, he has assisted on four goals in his seven games. Tonight is a favourable matchup against the Blackhawks who allow 3.57 goals against per game, and that was with Marc-Andre Fleury for a significant part of the season. The team is even weaker now and Brink will be looking to set up known goal-scorers Joel Farabee and James van Riemsdyk.

Noah Cates – Anytime Goal-Scorer (+325)

Cates is already ready to take on a scoring role with the Flyers and has really stepped up his game over the past five outings. He has two goals in his first eight NHL games and has three goals and four assists in the previous five. He scored his first two-goal game and three-point performance against a Penguins team with a lot to play for while only getting 11:17 in ice time.

Cates got time on the power play, but he and his linemates have been great together and are outmatching other third lines. Cates has something to play for: a spot on the team for next season. Look for him to keep up his production against a team that looks defeated at this time of the season.
