NHL Betting: Oilers vs Kings Player Props – McDavid, Kane, Grundstrom – 05/14/22

The best player props for the Game 7 matchup between the Edmonton Oilers and the Los Angeles Kings as the series shifts back to Edmonton with the teams tied 3-3. We are going with three goal-scorers today in a series-clinching game for both teams.

Connor McDavid – Anytime Goal-Scorer (+120)

Connor McDavid always steps up in big games, as he’s shown during this series already. He is tied for the lead in playoff points with Florida Panthers’ Carter Verhaeghe and was dominant in a Game 6 must win with one goal and two assists. He scored just over a minute into that game.

Typically in big games, he takes over more than normal and will shoot and take the puck to the net more. A game doesn’t get much bigger for the Oilers this season, and with Leon Draisaitl a bit injured, McDavid will feel even more pressure to put pucks in the net himself. This shouldn’t take away from his passing ability, but he won’t be slowing down his game to wait for anyone. He’ll take it to the net himself and likely score another highlight-reel goal or something close to it.

Evander Kane – Anytime Goal-Scorer (+140)

There is great value here for one of the NHL leaders in playoff goals. Evander Kane has seven goals, tied with two others, in just six games. He stepped up in Game 6 with two goals including the empty-net goal. He can fire the puck with the best of them and has a couple of the best players in the world to set him up.

Kane’s goals in this series have come in just three of the five games, but all of them have been in wins, so the Oilers’ production has somewhat hinged on him producing. His offensive production in Game 7 may be the difference-maker since it will be a tight contest.

Carl Grundstrom – Anytime Goal-Scorer (+400)

Shifting to the Kings for a player to step up and play a good game, we take a look at Carl Grundstrom. He is tied for the team lead in goals with just three, but he has scored those goals in the past three games since being elevated to the second line.

Grundstrom has only played five games but has been right around the net getting chances. The Oilers’ defence has tightened up and Mike Smith continues to play very well, but if any line is going to score, it’s going to be the Kings’ second line, and Grundstrom has shown in this series that he can put the puck in the back of the net.
