The first-round matchup between the Edmonton Oilers and the Los Angeles Kings continues back in Edmonton for Game 7 with the series tied 3-3. Get all the betting tips for the game here covering the moneyline, over/under, and game props.

Edmonton Oilers (-225) vs Los Angeles Kings (+180)

The Oilers have the momentum in this one after finishing Game 6 on a high note. The thing to watch is if they can carry it over between games. The Oilers kept up the pressure throughout their last game but still allowed two goals and the Kings to get back in the game.

The Oilers are back at home where they are a much better team, and in that atmosphere, they won’t come out flat with the series on the line. The Kings won’t be easy to defeat, as three of the six games have been close to the very end. The Oilers are the clear favourites as the higher seed team at home, so it is still worth it to take them with the much better players on their side.

Over/Under

You can look at the over/under two ways for this game. The first is that both goalies have been very good this series minus a blunder in Game 1 by Mike Smith and two tough games for Jonathan Quick in Game 2 and 3. Other than those, they’ve both been lights out with Smith holding a .931 save percentage and Quick outright stealing a couple of games for the Kings.

Despite the talent that has been shown in net, the Oilers and Kings have been able to exchange goals by keeping the pressure on and driving the nets. This has resulted in back-and-forth goals and comebacks in the series. In an elimination game, if either team is down a few goals, they will have their goaltender pulled much earlier to try to get those goals back. This should make it so the score runs up a bit in the third period. Take the over (O6.5, +100) based on these points.

Game Props

I mentioned above that the third period will likely feature at least one empty-net goal with one of the teams trying to even up the game. So the best bet is to take the third period as a high-scoring period in the game (O2.5, +125). Since the Oilers generally start slower, take the Kings to score the first goal and win the first period (+240) but the Oilers to storm back and dominate the second as they have in this series (+110).
