NHL Betting: Oilers vs Avalanche Third Round Game 3 – 06/04/22

The betting odds and picks covering everything to do with the Edmonton Oilers vs. Colorado Avalanche game as the Avalanche hold a 2-0 series lead.

Edmonton Oilers (+110) vs Colorado Avalanche (-135)

The Oilers return home in an attempt to stop the bleeding and make this third-round series a close one. The last time they were shut out this postseason they took a while during the next game to respond, but you can count on Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl, and the rest of the star forwards on the Oilers to step up offensively.

The Avalanche are still favoured in this one and are 5-0 on the road in the 2022 Playoffs. If they take this game, it will be nearly impossible for the Oilers to come back and qualify for the Stanley Cup Final for the first time since 2006. It should be a much better effort on the Oilers part, while the Avalanche won’t give them any room to breathe as they can almost smell victory just six wins away from the Cup. But the Oilers are the desperate team, and with two of the most dangerous players in the world, they won’t go away easily. Take the Oilers.

Over/Under (Under 7, -125)

It has been a tough go if you have been betting the over/under in the conference finals thus far. After 14 goals in Game 1 between these teams, the Oilers were shocked and Pavel Francouz of the Avalanche stepped up big time for a shutout.

The Oilers didn’t play badly defensively other than a two-minute span where they broke down and lost the game right there. With all the offensive talent on both sides, the teams are bound to get some goals, but in what should be the tightest game of the series thus far, the goaltenders could come into effect. Mike Smith has generally bounced back from losses, and he did for the most part in Game 2, but Game 3 will be his real test.

Game Props

Whether it’s the Oilers needing a comeback and forcing their way back into games or them breaking down for a short period of time and allowing goals, the third period is primed for the over in goals. Neither team is going to go away and there is always a chance at an empty net or two, so we will take the third period over (O2.5, -110).
