NHL Betting: Capitals vs Panthers First Round Game 6 – 05/13/22

The first-round matchup between the Washington Capitals and the Florida Panthers heads back to Washington for Game 6 with the Panthers holding the lead 3-2 as we look at the moneyline, over/under, and player props for this game.

Washington Capitals (+150) vs Florida Panthers (-185)

The Capitals give great value here for a team that nobody expected much from but has made this a very entertaining series. If it weren’t for the comeback ability of the Panthers that has shown its face in the postseason, the Capitals may have already locked up the series or be on the brink of eliminating the Presidents’ Trophy winners.

Ilya Samsonov has been great for the Capitals and exactly what they needed to slow down the offence of the Panthers. I would give the Capitals the advantage at home even considering their regular-season record. They stomped the Panthers 6-1 in Game 3 in Washington and lost in overtime after a late third-period goal in Game 4. Take the Capitals to force a Game 7 with a strong performance tonight and a bounce-back effort while also taking the under (U6.5, +105).

Player Props

T.J. Oshie – Anytime Goal-Scorer (+210)

T.J. Oshie has continued to score, win or lose. He now has five goals in the five games, including two in Game 5. As long as he keeps showing up to play and is producing, it isn’t a bad bet to continue taking him to score. He has been around the net, tied for the series lead in goals and for the team lead in points. For scoring in four of the five games, the odds here are very worth taking for Oshie to score another goal in Game 6 on the brink of elimination.

Carter Verhaeghe – Points (Over 0.5, -128) & Anytime Goal-Scorer (+260)

Nobody on the Panthers has matched the production or impact that Carter Verhaeghe has had on the series. He leads the team in goals (five) and points (10), while the only other player with even five points is his linemate Aleksander Barkov. Verhaeghe also has one overtime winner and two game-winning goals.

He is tied with the aforementioned Oshie for the most goals in this series and Verhaeghe has been unstoppable by always getting to the right areas. Expect nothing less than a big game once again in a potential series clincher for the Panthers.
