MLB Betting: White Sox vs Angels & Orioles vs Mariners – 06/28/2022

Everybody’s in action in the Major Leagues on Tuesday, and there’s a great lineup of American League games. On the West Coast, the Chicago White Sox are facing the Los Angeles Angels, and the Seattle Mariners are hosting the Baltimore Orioles. This betting guide will help with some of the value plays for that pair of contests.

Chicago White Sox (+110) vs Los Angeles Angels (-135)

In five career starts against the Angels, Sox starter Johnny Cueto is 4-0 with a 1.34 ERA. He’s also been great on the road, this season posting a 1.08 ERA and 22 strikeouts in 25 innings pitched. Cueto’s going up against Chase Silseth, who is making his first start for the Angels since June 3 after spending the last few weeks in Double-A. This is a good spot to take the White Sox (+110) to pull a small upset here.

The total has gone under in six of Cueto’s eight starts, and he’s allowed three or fewer runs in all but one of those outings. The under is also 4-1 in the last five meetings between these two teams and is 4-0-1 in the Angels’ last five home games. Silseth is a wild card here since it’s difficult to say how he’ll perform in his return from the minors, but lean toward the under (U9, -110) in this one.

Baltimore Orioles (+145) vs Seattle Mariners (-175)

It’s been an up and down season for the AL Cy Young award winner, but Robbie Ray has been great lately. In his last three starts, he’s posted a 0.90 ERA while striking out 20 in his last 20 innings pitched and flirted with a no-hitter a week ago. Orioles starter Dean Kremer also has had a great June. He didn’t allow a run in his last two starts and has an ERA of 1.71 over his 21 innings pitched this season. These teams have split their four meetings this season, but take Seattle (-175) to win this one.

Both of these starting pitchers have been sharp lately, and neither of these teams is known for their overwhelming offensive prowess. Both rank in the bottom 10 in runs per nine innings. The under has hit in eight of Baltimore’s last 10 games, and it’s gone 6-3-1 in Seattle’s last 10. The number is a bit low, but it looks like it could go below the total again. Take the under (U7.5, -110).
