MLB Betting: Twins vs White Sox & Blue Jays vs Athletics – 07/04/2022

There are a number of great contests with 14 games on the schedule in the Major Leagues on Monday. The Minnesota Twins take on the Chicago White Sox in an American League Central clash, while the Toronto Blue jays face off against the Oakland Athletics. This betting guide will offer some of the best value plays for that pair of games based on recent trends between the teams.

Minnesota Twins (+105) vs Chicago White Sox (-125)

Minnesota has won all three meetings between these teams this season, and one of those was a great outing from starter Dylan Bundy on April 23. Bundy has also been very good lately. In his last three starts, he’s posted an ERA of 1.89 and a sparkling 0.89 WHIP (walks+hits per inning pitched). White Sox starter Johnny Cueto has also had a decent season but has been brutal at home – going 0-3 with a 5.48 ERA over 23 innings pitched. Take the Twins (+105) in this one.

The total has gone under in six of Cueto’s nine starts and in the last four home games for Chicago. The Twins have also gone under the total in their last four games overall, and the under has hit in seven of their last 11 road games. Bundy has given up just five runs in his last 19 innings pitched, so there are plenty of trends pointing to the under (U9, +100) in this contest.

Toronto Blue Jays (-250) vs Oakland Athletics (+190)

Toronto starter Alek Manoah is in the middle of a great season, boasting a 9-2 record off of a 2.09 ERA and a 0.96 WHIP. He’s been even better on the road, going 4-1 with a 1.94 ERA and 38 strikeouts across 41.2 innings pitched. He won his previous start against Oakland back on April 17, as well. Oakland has also dropped six of their last seven. Oakland starter Cole Irvin hasn’t won a start since April 24. This looks like some good value on the Toronto run line (-1.5, -135).

As rocky as Irvin’s season has been, the total has gone over in just four of his 13 starts this season. However, Toronto is on a tear. The Blue Jays have hit the over in eight of their last 10, and in their last six road games overall. The over is 5-1 in the last six meetings and has a good shot to go over again with a relatively low number. Take the over (O7.5, -110) on Monday.
