MLB Betting: Tigers vs Blue Jays & Angels vs Mets – 06/11/22

In today’s MLB betting guide, the Toronto Blue Jays look to remain red hot against the Detroit Tigers, while the New York Mets try to take care of business vs the Los Angeles Angels who are slumping big time.

Detroit Tigers (+190) vs Toronto Blue Jays (-250)

The Blue Jays stomped the Tigers yesterday and the game was over in the first two innings when it was already 6-0. The bats all throughout their order have remained hot, and today holds an even better matchup for pitching as they are set to see Beau Brieske on the mound while the Blue Jays throw out ace Kevin Gausman.

Brieske struggles with control and has more walks than a team would like to see in a starter while also having a lower strikeout rate. His FIP (fielding independent pitching) is 6.54 as opposed to his 4.93 ERA (earned run average) so he has pitched much worse in his rookie season than it on the surface. Gausman has been stellar this season for the Blue Jays but he will be looking to shake off his last two starts and stay in the game longer. The Tigers’ batting is a perfect group to do that against as hits have not come easy to them. Take the Blue Jays and over once again (O8.5, -105).

Los Angeles Angels (+115) vs New York Mets (-140)

The Angels snapped their 13-game losing streak in the final game against the Boston Red Sox two games ago but once again fell to defeat against the Mets who have been great all season. They are second in the league and are one win shy of 40 on the season already while having recorded 20 wins on the road. The Angels have fallen big time and are now 16-17 at home.

The pitching matchup favours the Mets as it generally does against any team but the Angels can’t be disappointed with the performances Michael Lorenzen has put together for them this season. He has solid numbers all around but would do better if he could keep the walks down. The Mets’ starter Carlos Carrasco on the other hand could get a bit of help from his defense as he has a FIP of 2.68 compared to his ERA of 3.52. He is 7-1 and keeps home runs against and walks to a minimum. The Mets should be able to overpower the Angels in this game while the under (U8.5, -105) looks promising.
