MLB Betting: Royals vs Blue Jays & Astros vs Mariners – 06/07/22

In today’s MLB betting guide, the Toronto Blue Jays look to stay hot against the lowly Kansas City Royals, while the Houston Astros attempt to bounce back against the Seattle Mariners tonight.

Kansas City Royals (+180) vs Toronto Blue Jays (-225)

The Blue Jays ran through the Royals yesterday on a day when Ross Stripling was filling in the rotation. The Blue Jays got to starter Daniel Lynch even though he pitched better than his line shows. The Blue Jays should be able to get to the pitcher on the mound for the Royals today in Brad Keller who is 1-6. Keller has a low strikeout rate and the Blue Jays’ bats have been on fire, which is a great combination for them.

On the other side, Alek Manoah is starting today for the Blue Jays and has been lights out with a sub-2.00 ERA and good at keeping opponents from reaching base. The Kansas City batting has been very cold the past few weeks with hardly any home runs from the team and a low batting average. A matchup against one of the best pitchers this season doesn’t make things any easier as the Blue Jays are 8-2 in their last 10 compared to the Royals at 2-8. Take the Blue Jays and the under (U8.5, -115) since they can’t be expected to get all the runs again while considering the runline for even better odds (-1.5, -135).

Houston Astros (-250) vs Seattle Mariners (+200)

The Astros have their ace, Justin Verlander, on the mound as they try to bounce back from a tough 7-4 loss to the Mariners yesterday. The Astros are the much better team with 15 more wins on the season and a 14-7 record at home, while the Mariners have just a 13-20 record on the road. Surprisingly, though, the Mariners have the better record in the past 10 games (7-3) and have won two in a row.

The Mariners have been outperformed in nearly every category tracked this season by the Astros, and Chris Flexen, the Mariners’ pitcher tonight who doesn’t have the best stats on the season, will be tasked with slowing down the bats of Yordan Alvarez and Kyle Tucker who have been nightmares for opponents. The Astros are too dominant to waste an opportunity to beat up on a team lower in the standings with their ace on the mound in a possible bounce-back game, so take them to win and for the game to hit the under (U8, -110) with Verlander on the mound.
