MLB Betting: Reds vs Giants & Mariners vs Angels – 06/26/22

In today’s MLB betting guide, the Cincinnati Reds and San Francisco Giants go head-to-head for the final time this weekend and will determine the winner of the series. Meanwhile, the Seattle Mariners look to extend their five-game winning streak by sweeping the Los Angeles Angels.

Cincinnati Reds (+130) vs San Francisco Giants (-150)

The Reds put an end to their seven-game losing skid on Friday but failed to string together wins, dropping a lopsided 9-2 loss to the Giants. They have a chance to redeem themselves and take the season series this afternoon when they enter the third and final encounter between the two teams this month. Tyler Mahle will start for Cincinnati and is looking for his first win in his previous eight starts. He’s 2-6 in 15 games this season with an ERA (earned run average) of 4.57 and 90 strikeouts in 80.2 innings pitched.

Anthony DeSclafani will take to the mound for San Francisco in an attempt to get the Giants back on track. The team has fallen to third in the NL West after a tough series of games in weeks one and four. DeSclafani hasn’t performed up to par in his last three games, allowing 12 runs on 20 hits in 12.2 innings pitched. The Giants dropped the first game of the series but pumped the Reds for nine runs the next day, and they’re riding all the momentum heading into this afternoon.

Seattle Mariners (+120) vs Los Angels Angels (-140)

The Mariners climbed back into the NL West race after winning their last five games, and a second consecutive series sweep will put them in contention for the second seed. They’ll rely on Marco Gonzales to provide a solid start after he’s gone 3-3 in his last seven games. While he’s no strikeout king, Gonzales provides a consistent flow of infield outs and allowed just two runs on seven hits in his last outing against the Oakland Athletics.

José Suarez will start for Los Angeles, and he’s still looking for his first win of the season. In seven games, he’s 0-2 with an ERA of 5.00 and 26 strikeouts in 27 innings pitched. The Angels look to avoid a season series sweep for the third time this month, and they have not looked like themselves since firing manager Joe Maddon. They’ve fallen to fourth in the AL West, and a loss this afternoon will put some distance between their rank and the Mariners.
