MLB Betting: Reds vs Diamondbacks & Brewers vs Mets – 6/14/2022

There’s another packed slate of Major League Baseball action on Tuesday, including a number of interleague games. But there are still some good contests going on in the National League, as well. This betting guide will give some insight into some of the top value plays based of recent trends in a pair of NL tilts.

Milwaukee Brewers (+125) vs New York Mets (-150)

The Mets will be glad to be back at home after going a decent 5-5 over their 10-game West Coast road trip. The Mets have won starter Chris Bassitt’s last three home starts, and he has the edge in this matchup, too. Brewers starter Adrian Houser has been rotten away from home, going 1-3 with a 5.32 ERA and 1.61 WHIP (walks and hits per inning pitched). He’s also sporting an ERA of 6.60 in his last three starts. Take the Mets (-150) in this one.

Both of these starters have been a little inconsistent this season, and both of them got rocked their last time out. The total has gone over in Houser’s last three starts, and five of Bassitt’s last six. The Mets bats have picked up, too, scoring 17 runs in their last three games. Those trends should continue today, so take the over (O8, -115).

Cincinnati Reds (+100) vs Arizona Diamondbacks (-120)

This will be the sixth meeting between these teams, and these starters – Zach Davies for Arizona and Tyler Mahle for Cincinnati – faced off against each other on June 9. Neither factored in the decision, however, as the Diamondbacks scored four in the ninth for a 5-4 win. Mahle struck out 10 in that one, and Arizona has struggled against righties. Lean towards the Reds (+100), and hope the bullpen doesn’t blow it.

Both of these starters have been inconsistent this year, but both have also been pretty good lately. Davies has an ERA of 2.84 in his last three starts with 18 strikeouts across 19 innings pitched. Mahle has been even better, with a 1.93 ERA and 24 strikeouts in 18.2 innings. They’re familiar with each other, and this total should stay low. Take the under (U9, -120).
