MLB Betting: Rays vs Yankees & Mariners vs Astros – 05/29/22

There is lots of action on a nice Sunday for MLB today, which means many teams to bet on. The Tampa Bay Rays welcome the first-place New York Yankees in what should be a great matchup, while the Houston Astros try to get back on track against the sneaky Seattle Mariners.

Tampa Bay Rays (-140) vs New York Yankees (+115)

The Rays have their ace on the mound in Shane McClanahan, but the Yankees also have a very good starter playing today with Luis Severino. It should be a great pitching matchup but both teams are known for getting to starters with the Yankees leading the MLB in home runs.

The Rays work a little differently on offence by playing a great hit-and-run game. They are second in the league in stolen bases and have the personnel to reach base many times in a game. Their pitching is the key to any matchup, including their bullpen. Don’t expect the Yankees to chase McClanahan early, but you should see some runs sprinkled in throughout the game on both sides. The Yankees have a better record on the road than the Rays have at home while also leading the MLB in wins. As an underdog, it’s too good of value to pass up. Take the Yankees and over (O6.5, -115)

Seattle Mariners (+125) vs Houston Astros (-155)

The Astros ran into the Mariners’ ace yesterday and couldn’t manage a run. Today is a different story with Marco Gonzales on the mound for the Mariners as Houston should bounce back. They are the better team, and despite losing two in a row, still have a better record over the past 10 games than the Mariners.

Luis Garcia has been good for the Astros as he is set to start. The team has hit just three home runs over the past week and only three batters have hit over .225 during that span as well. The Astros’ offence will be led by Jose Altuve, Alex Bregman, and Jeremy Pena, but they will need some help to get the win. Take the Astros to bounce back in the series finale and the teams to struggle to get runs on both sides for the under (U8, -115).
