MLB Betting: Rangers vs Royals & White Sox vs Angels – 06/27/2022

The American League dominates the Major League Baseball schedule on Monday, as six of the nine games feature AL clubs. There are a pair of games where AL Central teams take on AL West squads, with the Texas Rangers facing the Kansas City Royals and the Chicago White Sox going up against the Los Angeles Angels. This betting guide will give some analysis of the best bets from those games.

Texas Rangers (-125) vs Kansas City Royals (+110)

Texas starter Martin Perez is rolling right along, as his 1.96 ERA is second in the American League. He’s allowed just one earned run over his last two starts—both Rangers wins. He gave up just one earned run in his only start against the Royals this season, and Kansas City has lost three of their last four. Texas has also won 10 of its last 14 games in Kansas City, so take the Rangers (-125) to win this one.

Perez has been a machine for the under when betting the total in his starts. The under has hit in six of his last eight starts and 10 of his 14 starts this season. Kansas City has the 27th-ranked offense in runs per nine innings. Royals starter Kris Bubic has been shaky with a 5.17 ERA in his last three starts, but the under (U8.5, -110) still looks like the play with Perez leading the way.

Chicago White Sox (+110) vs Los Angeles Angels (-130)

These teams have split their four meetings this season, but Chicago has lost four of its last five and has just five wins in its last 22 games in Los Angeles. The Angels have been sluggish, too, winning just two of their last six. Noah Syndergaard is getting used to his new team and has been pretty sharp at home, going 3-2 with a 2.39 ERA, and White Sox starter Lucas Giolito has given up 15 runs across his last two starts. Take the Angels (-130) here.

The total has gone over in each of Giolito’s last five starts, and Syndergaard has the potential to blow up, too. The over has hit in eight of the last 10 meetings between these teams in Los Angeles, as well. Both teams should be able to score some runs here, but they’ve also been inconsistent enough that the total is probably a number to avoid. But lean towards the over (O8.5, -110) in this one.
