MLB Betting: Rangers vs A’s & Rockies vs Nationals – 05/29/2022

With loads of MLB action Sunday, there are a lot of different odds out there. This betting guide will offer some of the better value plays from a couple of the games. The Texas Rangers try to complete a four-game sweep of the Oakland A’s, while the Colorado Rockies try to earn a split in their four-game series against the Washington Nationals.

Texas Rangers (-120) vs Oakland A’s (+100)

The Texas Rangers are on a decent run, winning their last four games – all against divisional opponents. Three of those wins have come at the hands of the Oakland A’s, making the Rangers money line (-120) a decent play here. There could also be some value in Texas’ run line (-1.5, +135). Texas is a solid 15-7 on the run line on the road, while Oakland is just 4-19 against the run line at home.

These two projected pitchers – Dane Dunning for Texas and James Kaprelian for Oakland – both have ERAs north of 5.00 over their last three starts. These teams have gone well over that number each of the last two games against each other, and both bullpens were used heavily in those contests, as well. Back the over (O7.5, -115), and expect another high run total as this series closes out.

Colorado Rockies (+105) vs Washington Nationals (-125)

Both of these teams have struggled out of the gate, and the Rockies battled back to split Saturday’s doubleheader. Josiah Gray hasn’t won since May 7 for the Nationals, and Kyle Freeland has been up and down for the Rockies, as well. However, the best money line value is on the Rockies (+105) in this spot, as Freeland is 4-1 with a 1.83 ERA against the Nationals in six career starts against them.

Because of the recent struggles of both pitchers, however, there’s also some value in the run total. Take a good look at playing the over here (O9, -115). These teams played two games yesterday, meaning bullpens are a bit taxed. Colorado’s gone over that number in three of its last four, while Washington has cleared nine runs in five of its last seven. That’s a good trend pointing to more runs scored, especially with a pair of pitchers still trying to find their way.
