MLB Betting: Phillies vs Giants & Yankees vs Angels – 06/01/22

On an action-packed Wednesday to kick off the month, there are tons to bet on. The Philadelphia Phillies host the San Francisco Giants on a losing streak, while the Los Angeles Angels hope to stop their slide against the New York Yankees.

Philadelphia Phillies (-120) vs San Francisco Giants (+100)

Carlos Rodon, the starter in tonight’s game for the Giants, hasn’t been his normal dominant self of late but he still has good numbers on the season. The offense has been more than capable of handling poor performances as they rank third in the MLB in runs per game. Rodon looks to bounce back as the Giants take a three-game win streak into the final game of this series.

The Phillies are a team that has underperformed in a very weak NL East division and have lost five games in a row. They have Aaron Nola on the mound who has had a great season thus far. Both starting pitchers in this game can strike out batters at will, so don’t expect a ton of baserunners in this one. The score should also be kept lower despite the Giants’ tendency to get runs. Take the Giants, as they are somehow the underdog, and the under (U8, -110).

New York Yankees (-185) vs Los Angeles Angels (+150)

The Angels have the misfortune of running into the hot Toronto Blue Jays and now the Yankees. It has resulted in six consecutive losses, but they are still four games over .500. It won’t get any easier tonight to break that losing streak as the Yankees are 18-7 at home and rank first in the MLB.

The Yankees also have starter Nestor Cortes on the mound who has been incredible for them with a 1.70 earned-run average (ERA) and 0.85 WHIP (walks+hits per inning pitched). The Angels’ starter Reid Detmers doesn’t allow a ton of baserunners, but that hasn’t stopped teams from getting runs on him. Both teams rank fourth in runs per game, but expect the Yankees to get to the Angels once again after a 9-1 opening game win. Take the Yankees in this one and the under (U8, -115).
