MLB Betting: Phillies vs Diamondbacks & White Sox vs Rangers – 06/11/22

In today’s MLB betting guide, the Philadelphia Phillies look to continue their streak against the Arizona Diamondbacks, while the Chicago White Sox and Texas Rangers both look to get going.

Philadelphia Phillies (-225) vs Arizona Diamondbacks (+180)

The Phillies continue to look unstoppable as they continue their resurgence and climb their way back into contention. They have won eight games in a row and took the first of three games against the Diamondbacks yesterday 7-5. The bats of the Phillies remained very hot as they hit three more home runs, two coming from Rhys Hoskins, while seven of nine batters recorded at least one hit.

Even the Diamondbacks’ ace couldn’t handle the Phillies and it won’t get any better with Madison Bumgarner on the mound. His FIP (fielding independent pitching) is 5.01 even though his ERA (earned run average) is 3.64, meaning he’s gotten way too much help from his defense, which could change during any game. Starter for the Phillies, Zack Wheeler is having a great season and it looks even better when you take into account his 2.30 FIP. He is a strikeout machine as usual and has only allowed two home runs on the season through 57.1 innings. With the combination of Wheeler and the bats, the Phillies are the obvious choice to extend their win streak to nine games. Take the over (O8.5, -115) as well until the bats of the Phillies show they are cooling down.

Chicago White Sox (-145) vs Texas Rangers (+120)

This matchup between the White Sox and the Rangers will be one of the more even ones of the night. They come into the game one win apart from each other and both have struggled a bit over the past 10 games. Marcus Semien’s production has made him the hottest batter in all of baseball over the past couple of weeks, followed by Adolis Garcia, Nate Lowe, and Corey Seager who have all produced at a high level during that time as well. The bats of the White Sox are much less flashy than the Rangers’ other than Jake Burger recently, so Lucas Giolito is going to have a tough time in this game.

White Sox starting pitcher Giolito has struggled at times throughout the season but has been decent overall. That’s not what the team needs from their ace, though, as the defense has had to cover him a lot this season with his 4.44 FIP. Martin Perez has solidified himself as the top pitcher in Texas as he has shown in each start that he can put a quality performance together. He hasn’t allowed more than three earned runs in a game this season and that came early. He may not strike out a ton of batters, but he is excellent at preventing the long ball, having only given up one home run on the season, which came in his last start. All signs point to the underdog Rangers in this one as the under (U8, -115) also seems likely with Perez on the mound.
