MLB Betting: Padres vs Rockies & Diamondbacks vs Giants – 07/11/22

In today’s MLB betting guide, the Colorado Rockies aim to draw closer to the top spot in the NL West when they visit the Colorado Rockies to play four games in four nights. Meanwhile, the Arizona Diamondbacks will hit the road to take on two of the top three teams in their division, starting with the San Francisco Giants tonight.

San Diego Padres (-145) vs Colorado Rockies (+125)

The Padres made strides in gaining some momentum back to their side by winning the first two games against the Giants, but it ended in disaster. After dropping the third game of the series, San Diego got blown out of the water in a 12-0 loss, and MacKenzie Gore got driven into the ground with eight runs off eight hits. Sean Manaea hopes for a better outcome when he takes to the mound, looking for a bounce-back game after allowing four runs off eight hits in his last outing.

The month of July sandwiched a three-game loss between two series wins against the Diamondbacks, leaving the Rockies tied for fourth in the NL West. Colorado is playing better of late and could make ground against two teams struggling to dig their feet into the ground. José Ureña earns his second start this season and has looked sharp in five total appearances. He’s allowed two runs in his last three games, holding an ERA (earned run average) of 2.51. The Padres are the favourites tonight, but one should consider the Rockies’ chances in terms of the pitching duel and San Diego’s recent cold streak.

Arizona Diamondbacks (+145) vs San Francisco Giants (-165)

Taking their abysmal 16-28 road record into San Francisco, the Diamondbacks run the potential of slipping further behind the eight ball this week. They take on the Giants and Padres for six games in seven nights before the All-Star break begins. Merrill Kelly will seek to provide Arizona with a solid start, and he’s played well lately. He held the Rockies to five hits and one run in seven innings and followed it up with a two-hit performance against the Giants last Wednesday.

The Giants recovered from a horrendous start to July, pummelling the Padres 12-0 and conserving third place in the division. They’re still two games behind the Padres for a wild card spot, and they go head-to-head with a team they lost two of three games against one week ago. Alex Cobb looks to put his team back on track with his 13th start. Cobb is 1-2 in his last seven starts, holding an ERA of 5.15 and striking out 31 batters in 36 innings. He’s played well enough to match Kelly, but which Giants team will we get on offense? Consider taking the Diamondbacks as the underdogs tonight for a decent return.
