MLB Betting: Orioles vs Angels & White Sox vs Tigers – 07/08/22

In today’s MLB betting guide, the Baltimore Orioles look to stay very hot against the struggling Los Angeles Angels, while the Detroit Tigers look to do the same vs the Chicago White Sox.

Baltimore Orioles (-140) vs Los Angeles Angels (+115)

The Orioles continue to rise as the Angels continue to fall. The Orioles won the first game of the series yesterday and have now won five games in a row. The Angels have lost six of their past 10 and have fallen two games back of the Orioles in the standings. Baltimore has also become a little dangerous at home at 22-17. It has been a full team effort for them offensively, while the Angels have struggled as a whole in regards to their offense.

Orioles’ starter Tyler Wells should give confidence to the team as he has provided them with good pitching all season and stellar pitching recently. He’s allowed three earned runs in the past four starts (22 innings) and Baltimore has been great behind him. As for Angels’ Reid Detmers, he’s pitched about as well as the team has played, not well. He’s allowed nine earned runs in his past two starts (8.2 innings) and been tagged for four home runs. That’s an easy way to allow some easy runs against, and with Wells opposite of him, not a recipe for success. Take the Orioles to continue rolling as well as the over (O8.5, -115).

Chicago White Sox (-175) vs Detroit Tigers (+145)

These are too good of odds to not bet for the Tigers as they have won five in a row, despite playing on the road where they’ve won just 12 games. They are now positive within their division (17-16) while the White Sox are 11-15 and Detroit is hot on Chicago’s tail in the standings. The White Sox aren’t the best at home as they are just 17-24, so more reason to think the Tigers have a very fair shot of upsetting them.

You might hear the name Lucas Giolito and think the White Sox are in good hands pitching-wise, but this season has been rough on him. He’s had two pretty solid starts in a row but allowed 15 runs in 10 innings just prior to that. As for the Tigers, it may be tougher to overcome how Tarik Skubal has been pitching as he’s allowed three-plus runs in six consecutive starts. Fortunately for them though, they’ve been able to add on the runs with a team effort. Take the Tiger since they’re hot with good odds and the over (O8, -105).
