MLB Betting: Nationals vs Braves & Cardinals vs Pirates – 06/15/22

In today’s MLB betting guide, the Atlanta Braves look to extend their impressive win streak against the Washington Nationals, while the Pittsburgh Pirates try to find any life when they visit the St. Louis Cardinals.

Washington Nationals (+155) vs Atlanta Braves (-190)

The Braves continue to stay extremely hot as they’ve moved their win streak to 13 games and now find themselves in a wild card spot. They are doing so without Eddie Rosario and now Ozzie Albies who just hit the 60-day IL (injured list). It shouldn’t be too tough of a task for the Braves to extend their winning streak to even one more game as they face the Nationals for the third and final game of their series after winning the first two games 9-5 and 10-4, respectively.

On the mound for the Braves is Spencer Strider who has a sub-2.00 FIP (fielding independent pitching) and an impressive 57 strikeouts in 38.1 innings. His problem isn’t the home run or allowing hits, it’s the number of walks he gives up. Pitching for the Nationals is Erick Fedde who continues to be a below-average starter for them. He has a 4.87 ERA (earned run average) and also gives up a ton of walks. The way the Braves’ bats have been on, expect the score to be run up from Atlanta to hit the over (O9, -120) and the win streak to be extended.

St. Louis Cardinals (-165) vs Pittsburgh Pirates (+140)

The Cardinals get back starter Jack Flaherty for the first start of the season. He is a skilled pitcher who had a strong season last year and is behind a hot St. Louis team right now. They have won three games in a row, are 19-9 within their division, and 21-12 at home.

On the other side, the Pirates haven’t been able to get anything going and have lost nine games in a row, are 9-22 within their division, and 11-20 on the road. The Cardinals have also combined to beat the Pirates 19-7 over the first three games of the series. Starting pitcher for the Pirates, Roansy Contreras, has pitched pretty well this season, but it may not be enough to stop the bleeding as he has only started four games and hasn’t been able to go deep into games yet. Expect the Cardinals to continue their beating of the Pirates and the team to hit the over (O8.5, -105).
