MLB Betting: Mets vs Padres & Rockies vs Giants – 06/07/2022

There’s a full slate of games on Tuesday, and the late games in the National League deliver some intriguing matchups. The New York Mets continue their West Coast swing against the San Diego Padres. The Colorado Rockies try to kick a four-game losing streak as they open a series against the San Francisco Giants. This betting guide is set to offer some of the best value plays for this pair of games.

New York Mets (+105) vs San Diego Padres (-125)

After a shaky start to their road trip, the Mets have won three in a row, scoring 25 runs in that trio of games. New York has won five of the last six meetings against San Diego and is picking up some steam. Mets starter Taijuan Walker has been great all season, especially lately, and he’s been a little steadier than Padres starter Yu Darvish. Take the Mets to continue their winning streak at a decent price (+105).

This looks to be an old-fashioned pitcher’s duel. The under has hit in three of Walker’s last four starts and in each of Darvish’s last three starts. Darvish has also been very good at home, sporting an ERA of 1.71 in 26.1 innings pitched. Walker has given up more than two runs just once in his last five starts. The number is low but with good reason. Lean toward the under in this one (U7.5, -105).

Colorado Rockies (+180) vs San Francisco Giants (-225)

Giants starter Carlos Rodon got a win against the Rockies back on May 9 but has had some bad luck since, losing four straight starts. However, this might be his chance to get back on track. San Francisco has won five of six against the Rockies this season, and Colorado starter German Marquez has been very generous to hitters all season. The Giants’ money line (-225) is pretty steep, but their run line (-1.5, -110) has a lot of value as San Fran should be in good shape in this one.

Five of the six games between these teams have gone over the total, and that looks like the right play in this one again. Marquez has been terrible on the road, and five of Rodon’s last seven starts have also gone over the total. Rodon has been pretty good at home, but Marquez starting means there’s really only one play here. Take the over (O8, -105) and trust the Giants to light up the struggling Colorado starter.
