MLB Betting: Mariners vs Rangers & White Sox vs Rays – 06/04/2022

There’s plenty of action on Saturday for Major League Baseball bettors, and there are some good value plays to be found in the American League. This betting guide looks at a pair of games that should provide some solid plays, including a tight AL West matchup and another with the surging Tampa Bay Rays.

Seattle Mariners (+100) vs Texas Rangers (-120)

The Mariners blew a lead and then took it back in the ninth to win the first game of the series on Friday. After a mini-run, the Rangers have now lost three in a row. Texas starter Glenn Otto has been sharp in his last two starts, giving up just one run in each of them while winning both. Marco Gonzalez has also been decent, going at least six innings in his last three starts while giving up two runs or less in each. This should be a close game but lean toward Texas (-120) to bounce back after a tough one on Friday.

Both of these pitchers have been playing pretty well lately, and the under has landed in four of the last five games in Texas. Seattle has gone under in five of its last eight, but all three that went over during that stretch were against Baltimore. Texas has hit the under in four straight, and that trend should continue with two sharp starters going. Lean toward the under (U9, -120) again on Saturday.

Chicago White Sox (+100) vs. Tampa Bay Rays (-120)

Tampa Bay has won three in a row, taking a pair from the Texas Rangers before downing the White Sox on Friday. They host the White Sox again on Saturday. These teams have split their four meetings this season, but Tampa has won the last two. Tampa has done very well against the White Sox at home, and this should be another good spot for them. Take the Rays’ money line (-120) against a struggling White Sox club.

White Sox starter Dylan Cease has been a roller coaster lately, while Rays’ starter Drew Rasmussen got rocked in his last start in Texas. The over has hit in the last four meetings between these two teams in Tampa Bay, and in six of the last eight meetings overall. With two shaky starters, this looks like it could be higher scoring again on Saturday. Lean towards the over on this one (O7, +100).
