MLB Betting: Mariners vs Astros & Blue Jays vs Royals – 06/08/2022

Every Major League team is in action on Wednesday, giving plenty for bettors to choose from. This betting guide will prepare you to make some high-value plays in a couple of American League contests. The Seattle Mariners and Houston Astros face off in an American League West clash, while the Toronto Blue Jays look for a sweep over the Kansas City Royals.

Seattle Mariners (+125) vs Houston Astros (-150)

This series has been heating up. The teams split the first two games and even had a benches-clearing incident. Houston starter Jose Urquidy was decent his last time out but was able to get a lot of run support. That might not be as likely to happen on Wednesday. Logan Gilbert has been very sharp for Seattle and pitched seven shutout innings against the Astros on May 28. This is a good spot to take the Mariners money line (+125) based on the consistency of the starters.

Gilbert has allowed just one run over 13 innings in his last two starts, and the total has gone under in four of his last five starts. The under has also landed in two of Urquidy’s last three outings and is 4-1 in the last five meetings between the teams, including yesterday’s 4-1 Astros win. Look for another low-scoring game in this one, and lean toward the under (U8.5, -110).

Toronto Blue Jays (-155) vs Kansas City Royals (+125)

These teams are the opposite of each other right now. Kansas City has lost eight of its last nine, while the Blue Jays have won 11 of their last 13 games. Toronto has taken the first two games of this series by a combined score of 15-0, winning 7-0 on Tuesday. The Blue Jays have won the last five meetings against the Royals, and that trend looks like it should continue. Take the Jays’ money line (-155) in this one.

Toronto starter Yusei Kikuchi has been dinged around a little bit lately, and Royals starter Brady Singer got hammered to the tune of seven runs in five innings in his last outing. All three of Singer’s last three starts have gone over, as well. With the shakiness of both starters, and the Blue Jays are really hitting the ball so well right now, the over (O9, +100) has some good value.
