MLB Betting: Dodgers vs Rockies & Marlins vs Cardinals – 06/29/2022

With a full slate of games on the schedule for Wednesday, there are a pair of games in the National League with some great value. The Los Angeles Dodgers try to get back on track against the Colorado Rockies and the Florida Marlins take on the St. Louis Cardinals. This betting guide will give some of the top value plays based on recent trends in those two contests.

Los Angeles Dodgers (-200) vs Colorado Rockies (+165)

Julio Urias has been very good lately, going 2-1 with a 1.50 ERA and 25 strikeouts over 18 innings in his last three starts. He has given up more than two runs just once over his last seven starts and boasts a 2.36 ERA on the road. Colorado has won German Marquez’s last four starts, but Coors Field has not been friendly to him. His ERA is 6.70 with a 1.62 WHIP (walks+hits per inning pitched) over 44.1 innings at home. Take the Dodgers (-200) to bounce back after yesterday’s loss.

Marquez has been shaky, but the under has gone 4-2-1 across his last seven starts. The total has gone under in nine of the last 13 meetings between these two teams, and Urias has been on fire. The over hasn’t hit in one of his starts since all the way back on May 14. This is another inflated total for Coors Field, but take the under (U11, -105) to hit again in Wednesday’s contest.

Miami Marlins (-120) vs St. Louis Cardinals (+100)

It’s been a great season for Marlins starter Sandy Alcantara, who has the second-best ERA in the National League at 1.95. He threw eight shutout innings against the Cardinals in his only start against them this season back on April 20, a 2-0 St. Louis victory. The Marlins are struggling to score runs again, scoring just 12 over their last five games while going 1-4. Alcantara gives them a great chance, but St. Louis has won three of their last four. Take the Cards (+100) at a good price here at home.

St. Louis starter Andrew Pallante has just four starts on the season, but they’ve all been decent outings. Toss in Alcantara and the struggling Marlins bats, and this could be a low-scoring affair. The under is 7-1 over the last eight meetings between these teams, with the lone outlier being St. Louis’ 9-0 win just a couple of days ago. The total is low, but lean toward the under (U7.5, +100).
