MLB Betting: Dodgers vs Cardinals & Padres vs Rockies – 07/13/2022

There’s a lot of good action with National League West teams on Wednesday. The Los Angeles Dodgers face the St. Louis Cardinals in a great pitching matchup, while the San Diego Padres and Colorado Rockies continue to slug it out in Denver. This betting guide will give some of the best value plays for those two contests.

Los Angeles Dodgers (-155) vs St. Louis Cardinals (+125)

Cy Young hopeful Tony Gonsolin takes the mound for the Dodgers against St. Louis stalwart Adam Wainwright on Wednesday. Gonsolin has been superb this season, going 11-0 with an ERA of 1.62 and a 0.80 WHIP (walks+hits per inning pitched). Wainwright has been sharp in his last three, posting a 2.49 ERA and 1.02 WHIP over 21.2 innings pitched. The Dodgers are on a tear right now, winning nine of their last 10 games. Lean towards the Los Angeles money line (-155) in this one.

This game is going to be low scoring. Wainwright has been electric at home, posting a 2.21 ERA while striking out 46 in 53 innings pitched. Gonsolin has been great no matter where he has pitched. The under is 4-0-1 in the Dodgers’ last four against a right-handed starter, and the total has gone under in the Cardinals’ last eight against a righty, as well. This might come down to the bullpens to decide the win, but either way, this looks like another great spot to play the under (U8, -110).

San Diego Padres (-165) vs Colorado Rockies (+135)

The Rockies continued their dominance over the Padres this season, winning on Tuesday for their sixth win over San Diego in the last seven meetings between the teams. But Joe Musgrove might be here to save the day. The Padres starter is 5-1 on the road with a 2.00 ERA and a 0.93 WHIP. He also gave up one hit over seven scoreless innings in his last outing. Take the Padres (-165) to bounce back here.

The under has hit in three of Musgrove’s last four starts, as well as in the Rockies’ last three games overall. The total has also gone under in six of the last eight meetings between these squads, including the last four overall. Musgrove has been great, and Colorado has been keeping runs down. This looks like another good spot to take the under (U10.5, -105) once again.
