MLB Betting: Cardinals vs Cubs & Mets vs Dodgers – 06/03/2022

There’s a heavy slate of games on Friday, and the National League has a number of great matchups. This betting guide will help to give some insight into a couple of contests that have great value. The Chicago Cubs hope to win their fourth straight, taking on the St. Louis Cardinals. The New York Mets and Los Angeles Dodgers square off in a battle of the National League’s top two records.

New York Mets (+120) vs Los Angeles Dodgers (-145)

The Dodgers took the first game of this series, winning 2-0 on Thursday, snapping New York’s six-game winning streak. Los Angeles looks to piggyback on that success with Tyler Anderson on the mound today against New York’s Chris Bassitt. It’s tough to go against Anderson the way he’s pitched, especially lately. It should be another tight one but lean toward the Dodgers money line here (-145).

There were just 11 hits in yesterday’s contest between these two teams, and these pitchers have been pretty solid lately. Anderson hasn’t given up a run in his last two starts, while Bassitt gave up just two hits in his last outing. There is a good price on the under here, and with the way these teams are going, that looks like the best play. Take the under (U8, -105) for what looks like another tight matchup out west.

St. Louis Cardinals (-105) vs Chicago Cubs (-115)

Chicago is on a bit of a roll and took the first game of the series 7-5 on Thursday. However, Miles Mikolas has done very well against the Cubs in his career (1.62 ERA across 55.2 innings pitched), and that should continue here. The Cubs’ bats probably won’t be able to keep up with St. Louis. Take the Cardinals (-105) here to snap Chicago’s winning streak.

The total has gone over in four of Mikolas’ last five starts, and with the way the Cardinals have knocked around righties this year, Cubs starter Marcus Stroman could be in trouble. The over has hit four of the last five games between these two teams in Chicago, and that trend looks like it should continue here. Take the over (O8, -120) in this one.
