MLB Betting: Brewers vs Nationals & Reds vs Cardinals – 06/11/2020

There’s a lot going on in the National League on Saturday. The Milwaukee Brewers are trying to kick a seven-game losing streak, taking on the Washington Nationals. The St. Louis Cardinals look to continue their success against the Cincinnati Reds. This betting guide will offer some insight as to the best value plays across those two games.

Milwaukee Brewers (-160) vs Washington Nationals (+135)

The Brewers are on a rotten stretch, losing seven in a row. That cold streak should come to an end on Saturday. Nationals starter Patrick Corbin has been out of his element all season. He’s 2-8 with a 6.71 ERA and has given up 23 earned runs over his last five starts. The Brewers have Eric Lauer starting, and he’s given up just five runs in his last four starts. Take Milwaukee (-160) to kick their skid.

Corbin’s struggles help make this decision, as he has given up a ton of runs this season. The Nationals have also been sharp against lefties lately, as the over has landed in their last five games against left-handed starters. The over has also hit in four of Milwaukee’s last five games, as well as three of of Lauer’s last four road starts. Take the over (O9, -110) again in this one.

Cincinnati Reds (+145) vs St. Louis Cardinals (-175)

Adam Wainwright has been very good for the Cardinals all season, and he’s been downright nasty lately. Over his last seven starts, Wainwright has given up a total of eight earned runs while striking out 22. He’s been very good at home, as well, sporting a 2.40 ERA. He’ll likely be the difference in this contest, so take the Cardinals (-175) to beat the Reds for the second day in a row, and maybe even consider St. Louis’ run line (-1.5, +115).

The under has landed in Wainright’s last four starts, and both of these teams are already struggling to score runs. Cincinnati has been shut out in two of the last three games, and the Cardinals have scored just eight runs in their last four games. Cincinnati starter Hunter Greene has been a bit erratic but pitched seven shutout innings in his last start. Take the under (U8, -110) in this one.
