MLB Betting: Braves vs Giants & White Sox vs Blue Jays – 06/20/22

In today’s MLB betting guide, the Atlanta Braves look to stay hot against a formidable foe in the San Francisco Giants, while the Toronto Blue Jays look to build off their previous win as they visit the Chicago White Sox.

Atlanta Braves (-155) vs San Francisco Giants (+125)

Max Fried, the starting pitcher for the Braves, has locked it down all season and been very good. He is 7-2 with a sub-3.00 ERA (earned run average) and 1.05 WHIP (walks+hits per inning pitched). He has given up just 13 walks in over 80 innings of work and just six home runs as well. Backed by a top-10 offense and a team that is 8-2 in the past 10 games, the Braves look like a strong option coming into this game having won their last outing.

Logan Webb of the Giants is no slouch, but he also gives up more of everything than Fried other than home runs. Though the team may be doing pretty well, they’ve had back-to-back series against two of the worst teams in baseball and haven’t been able to run up the score in any of them. That is going to prove to be a problem against a high-powered Braves team who should once again shut down their opponent. Pick the Braves to win this one and stay hot while also taking the over (O8, -110).

Chicago White Sox (+110) vs Toronto Blue Jays (-135)

The Blue Jays get a much easier matchup than the New York Yankees as they are set to start a series against the White Sox. This team is only 31-33 as injuries and performances have hurt them throughout. This will be a very underwhelming White Sox team as Jose Berrios and the Blue Jays get to face as they are 13-17 in their home stadium and just 5-5 in their past 10 games.

The Blue Jays are also 5-5, but as I mentioned, had to tend to the first-place Yankees, who they took care of in their final game in a big comeback performance. The bats of the Blue Jays continue to stay very hot, as does Berrios who looks for his fourth consecutive solid outing. He has allowed just six runs over his past 22 innings and gone at least seven innings in three straight starts while striking out 26. The team is finally getting the pitcher they acquired at last season’s deadline after struggling out of the gate earlier this season. The Blue Jays have all the advantages as Lance Lynn starts his second game of the season after being lit up in his first. The White Sox will also need to head to their bullpen early as Lynn hasn’t gotten the starts to go deep yet. Take the Blue Jays with good odds in this one as well as the over (O9, -115).
