MLB Betting: Blue Jays vs Tigers & Orioles vs Royals – 06/12/2022

Everybody’s in action in the Major Leagues on Sunday. The Toronto Blue Jays continue their road trip against the Detroit Tigers; and the Baltimore Orioles continue battling the Baltimore Orioles. This betting guide will help to offer the best value plays of the day for those two contests.

Toronto Blue Jays (-135) vs Detroit Tigers (+110)

The Tigers have won five of starter Tarik Skubal’s last six starts, and he’s allowed just six runs combined over that stretch. The problem with Skubal is he has to be nearly perfect because the Tigers generally struggle to score runs. Toronto is going with spot starter Ross Stripling, who has just one start since May 7. He has struggled on the road this season, with a 4.76 ERA across 17 innings pitched. There’s some value in the Tigers here. Lean towards Detroit’s run line (+1.5, -145), and consider the money line (+110).

This game should be close, as the under has hit in the last four of Stripling’s starts, and the Tigers generally struggle to string together a lot of offense. The under has also hit in seven of the last eight meetings between these teams. Lean toward the under (U8.5, -115) in this one as these starters have been good, and Detroit has had a difficult time scoring all year.

Baltimore Orioles (+110) vs Kansas City Royals (-125)

Something is going to have to give in this one. The starters have combined for just one win, and the Orioles and Royals have the 22nd and 27th ranked defenses, respectively. Baltimore starter Dean Kremer is making just his second start of the season, and he got dinged around in his first out. Royals starter Brad Keller hasn’t won since May 3rd, and Kansas City has dropped his last six starts. This is probably a coin flip, but lean toward the Royals in this one (-125).

There are going to be some runs scored in this game. The over is 8-2 in the last 10 games in Kansas City, and these teams have cleared the total in two of the three games of this series. The one outlier was Kansas City’s 8-1 win on Friday, where the total was set at 9.5. These starters also haven’t ventured far into games this season, meaning the beat up bullpens will get another workout. Take the over (O9.5, -120) in this one.
