MLB Betting: Blue Jays vs Orioles & Diamondbacks vs Reds – 06/15/22

In today’s MLB betting guide, the Toronto Blue Jays look to bounce back with a strong performance against the Baltimore Orioles as they typically do, while the Cincinnati Reds look to stay hot on the road against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Toronto Blue Jays (-300) vs Baltimore Orioles (+240)

The Blue Jays don’t take losses well, as they bounce back and dominate their opponent the next game. After their last five losses, the team has combined for 44 runs for and five against. Take into consideration the Orioles are also not a good team and the Blue Jays have every advantage against them as the Orioles have won just 12 games on the road.

The Blue Jays will throw Jose Berrios out on the mound today as he is starting to heat up after a very up and down start to the season. He has struck out 18 batters and allowed only three runs over his past 15 innings and is behind a pretty strong defense. Starting on the Orioles’ side is Bruce Zimmerman who has yet to find his way in the big leagues in his young career. He has a 5.52 ERA (earned run average) and 1.403 WHIP (walks+hits per inning pitched) to go along with 76 hits and 15 home runs in 62 innings. What he has kept lower is the walks, but the Blue Jays have a few threats to get on base via the walk. Expect the Blue Jays to come out and hammer the Orioles, likely hitting the run line (-2.5, -110) and over (O9, -115).

Arizona Diamondbacks (-120) vs Cincinnati Reds (+100)

The Diamondbacks have been on a slide, while the Reds are working their way up. It looks to be a pitching matchup in this game as Arizona has ace Zac Gallen on the mound against Reds’ Luis Castillo. Both defenses have helped their ERAs a little bit, but both have pitched well regardless and limit the number of baserunners. Don’t expect a ton of home runs to be hit either against these strong starters, but as far as who’s hot or not, Gallen has struggled in his past few outings, even being pulled after 1.2 in his previous game.

Despite the horrible start to the season, the Reds have climbed their way from the depths of the league and are hitting the ball pretty well as the team now ranks 14th in runs per game and 21st in hits. The Reds have also won three games in a row, all on the road, as they have started to erase their horrible record away from home (11-22). The Diamondbacks aren’t very good at home (14-18), have lost two in a row to the Reds, and are 3-7 in their last 10. They are a strong choice for an upset tonight, so take them and the over (O7.5, -115) since these two teams happen to always put runs up against each other when they face off.
