MLB Betting: Athletics vs Mariners & Padres vs Dodgers – 06/30/22

In today’s MLB betting guide, the Oakland Athletics aim to finish the month strong after dropping three straight to the New York Yankees when they visit the Seattle Mariners. Meanwhile, the San Diego Padres and Los Angeles Dodgers go head-to-head to determine who reigns supreme in the NL West.

Oakland Athletics (+185) vs Seattle Mariners (-225)

It’s no secret that the Athletics are suffering through a miserable season, losing seven of their last nine games, including series sweeps against the Mariners and Yankees. They face the same Mariners team tonight that blasted them for 19 runs in three games. Adrian Martinez takes to the mound for his second start of the year after pitching five shutout innings against the Detroit Tigers. The 25-year-old held the opposition to four hits while striking out three, earning his first career win.

Due to a recent surge in momentum, the Mariners have given themselves a chance to catch up to the second and third-place teams in the AL West. They remain in the fourth spot but sit just a half-game back of the Los Angeles Angels and 1.5 games behind the Texas Rangers. Logan Gilbert receives his 16th start of the season and is 8-3 on the year, with a 2.44 ERA (earned run average) and 89 strikeouts in 88.1 innings. Gilbert has won two of his last three starts and is poised to add another victory tonight. Take the Mariners to win and go with the over (O7.5, -105).

San Diego Padres (+105) vs Los Angeles Dodgers (-125)

Had it not been for a disastrous trip to Colorado two weeks ago and dropping three of four against the Philadelphia Phillies, the Padres might be at the top of the NL West. Instead, they remain deadlocked with the Dodgers with 46 wins each. Joe Musgrove will start tonight after dropping his last decision, but he’s been outstanding this season. Going 4-1 in his previous seven games, he pitched a 2.15 ERA and struck out 41 batters in 46 innings. If San Diego hopes to put the Dodgers away, it’ll be on the back of Musgrove’s brilliance.

The Dodgers struggled in a three-game series against the Rockies, but they can keep their claws in the first spot of the division with a win tonight. Mitch White earns his sixth start and is 1-1 in 10 appearances. White played well in his last outing and pitched two scoreless innings before a two-run home run took him out of the game. With an ERA of 2.97 in his last seven games, White is in a good position to pick up the win tonight. Take the Dodgers and go with the under (U8.0, -120).
