CFL Betting: Calgary Stampeders vs Edmonton Elks – 07/07/22

In tonight’s CFL action, the Calgary Stampeders aim to remain undefeated after coming off a bye week as they take on the Edmonton Elks. The Elks were in action last week, edging out the Hamilton Tiger-Cats 29-25 to earn their first win of the season. They remain at the bottom of the West Division with the only losing record among the five teams involved.

Moneyline: Stampeders @ -190

Following a stunning comeback win last week, the Elks are forced to make some changes to their roster ahead of tonight’s game. Front back Tanner Green will miss the next six games, leaving an opening that Ante Milanovic-Litre will try to fill. Defensive back Aaron Grymes is close to a return, but Edmonton will still be without his services for two more weeks. 24-year-old Tre Ford will continue to earn valuable experience and playing time and is one of the bright spots in a struggling season.

With a win tonight, the Stampeders could catch the Winnipeg Blue Bombers as the only teams to start the year 4-0. They’re one of three teams in the division to go undefeated in their first three games, but have given up the most points among the three clubs. Their defense will receive a boost with the return of former All-Star Tre Roberson, who missed the last game with shoulder issues. He looked good in his first two games of the season, finishing with seven tackles and a forced fumble. Given his presence in the lineup and Calgary’s overall play, the Stampeders should have no problem continuing their winning ways.

Total Points Parlay: Over 51.5 (+250)

The Stampeders have recorded 30 points or more in all three of their games this year, thanks to a solid running game and the collective efforts of Bo Mitchell. A troubling trend they’ll look to avoid is starting slow in the first half. Calgary trailed in all three games heading into halftime before their offense took over. They’ve out-scored the opposition 66-20 in the third and fourth quarters, and it’s something the coaching team will aim to improve. The over for tonight (O51.5, +250) looks very plausible with a team that can put up points taking on a struggling defensive squad.

Touchdown Scorers Anytime: Ka’Deem Carey @ -140

If there’s one player the Elks will need to keep their eyes on, it’s Ka’Deem Carey. The 29-year-old running back enters tonight with 165 running yards, and has rushed more touchdowns than the entire Elks team. He’s well on his way to surpassing last season’s totals of 869 rushing yards and seven touchdowns. The Elks’ defensive team has allowed 25 points or more in all of their outings this season, and its unlikely to change tonight.
