In today’s MLB betting guide, the San Francisco Giants try to snap their losing streak against the Arizona Diamondbacks, while the Los Angeles Dodgers look to continue climbing vs the Colorado Rockies.
Arizona Diamondbacks (+110) vs San Francisco Giants (-135)
This looks like the perfect game for an upset. The Giants have been blown out by the Diamondbacks in consecutive games after being swept by the Chicago White Sox. The Giants have now lost six in a row and aren’t set up nicely to snap that today. The Diamondbacks have outscored them 14-5 and have one of their better starters on the mound in Merrill Kelly.

Two of Kelly’s last three starts were very strong and he really started to limit the walks issued. The offense of the Giants has struggled, so expect another strong performance by the Diamondbacks’ pitching. Alex Cobb starts for San Francisco and doesn’t go very deep into games, so expect more than a couple of relievers. Cobb has been tagged for a few runs per game lately, so an early lead for the Diamondbacks is also likely. Take the Diamondbacks as a strong underdog and the over (O8.5, -110).
Los Angeles Dodgers (-350) vs Colorado Rockies (+260)
This matchup between the Dodgers and the Rockies is ridiculously one-sided. That’s due to the 16-win differential overall, the 13-win differential of the Dodgers at home compared to the Rockies on the road, the recent games of each, and the Dodgers riding a two-game win streak as opposed to a two-game losing streak from the Rockies. Colorado has also lost four in a row on the road.
Pitching for the Rockies is Jose Urena who is making his first start of the season as he looks to get his career back on track after a few tough seasons. He’s not off to a very good start, and a weak Rockies team won’t give him much help. The starter for the Dodgers is relatively inexperienced Mitch White who has a 3.93 ERA (earned run average) and 1.19 WHIP (walks+hits per inning pitched). He’s still building up his pitch count but has either shut the opposition down or allowed three runs. Allowing a few runs wouldn’t hurt the Dodgers as they are first in the MLB in runs per game and give any of their pitchers run support. With how crazy the odds are, the best play is to go with the run line (-2.5, -115) and the over (O9, -120).
